Catching Up

It has been almost a month since my last post...WOW how time flies!  October is always such a fun month.  As the weather changes I can't help but think back to last year and the anticipation of having a little one around.  Little did I know at Halloween last year it would only be one month until we met our little man.  He is such a blessing and I thank God every single day for his presence in our lives.  Eli has become such a ham over the last month.  He loves to 'farm' with his toy tractors, pushing them around all day long.  Eli loves hide and seek, splashing in the bath, his blankie at bed time, snuggling with Mommy and of course his favorite is Daddy!  Eli has gotten really good at drinking from his sippy cup and loves to "read" books by turning the pages and pointing to the pictures.  Here are just a few moments frozen in time of our little man.

Stealing an apple that mommy and grandma picked. I love apples!

Hiding under the kitchen table....Daddy caught me!

After a walk...this is what my hair looks like after a stocking cap!

Mommy went outside to take clothes off the line...since Eli can't make the trip with me or be left alone to roam free, he got to play in the excersaucer (a treat!) and watch Mickey Mouse.  I think he did okay, don't you?

Mommy and Eli coloring!  We also made "ghosts" for Halloween out of Eli's footprint....they turned out REALLY cute!
Beef stew...YUM!

Again, I walked out of the room to switch the laundry and I hear a BOOM...a whole basket of folded clothes are dumped on the ground.

Helping daddy farm is rough!

Eli's 1st Bonfire

This evening was Eli's 1st Bonfire (of many).  We went out to my great-uncle Ed's, where Eli played with his cousin Chloe and enjoyed an all-around beautiful evening!  Here he is loving the swing...

Eli at 9 months

Our good friend Jennifer Schneider has an amazing camera and offered to take some pictures of Eli and his cousin Ava--well, second cousin--who are 4 days apart in age. I can't wait to see the pictures with Ava in them, Eli and Ava were both so sober that day. Here are a few snapshots of Eli at 9 months old... thanks Fer, you did such a great job!

This picture cracks me up because this is SO my life these days.  Everywhere I go--there's Eli--climbing up my legs!

Future Linebacker!

Last Friday, Anthony and I brought Eli to his first football game...Warrenton vs Duschene.  Although we took the sleepy baby home at halftime we had a blast and can't wait to do it again!  I can wait, but it makes me excited for the days when I'll be there to cheer on my baby...I'm sure they will come soon enough!
Ready for the football game mommy!
GO BIG RED!

Corn Fed

Since Eli has two top and two bottom teeth, we figured we'd give him the green light to try out some corn on the cob. (daddy's late crop)  He LOVED it, he'd naw on the cob and then suck the juices.  Much like many other foods he did not want mommy to take the corn cob away when he was finished.

Mommy's Little Snuggler!

Eli is such a lover!  Although he loves his daddy....playing, laughing and sitting on his lap.  Sometimes it's so nice to cuddle with mom!

Big Boy Bath!

Eli has outgrown his baby tub and took his first big boy bath at home Thursday.  The baby tub was so convienent, but Eli kept trying to climb out.  So, here are a few pictures from his first big bath.  Now we have to try to keep him in the big tub too!  Eli still loves his baths!  Now I can turn on the water and no matter where he is in the house, he comes crawling!
Really mommy?!
Hey dad!

Look Who's Standing!

This morning when I layed Eli down for his nap he was his usual quiet self...until he started laughing.  I went in his room to check out what was so funny and this is what I found.  Needless to say I was scared he'd lean over the crib and fall right out.  So Eli napped with mommy until daddy came home with the tools to lower the crib.  Now, laying down for a nap has become a little bit challenging.  However this afternoon, he played until he passed out (which is coming up on 3 hours now...and why I'm getting a post done in the same day)

Much better....I still see you mommy!

Goof

Eli is such a goof!  Here are some candid moments of his from the past week.
Playing in his tunnel
Playing with Autumn's toys (check it out he pulls up to his knees!)
"Reading" daddy's Field and Stream
"Oops, she caught me!"  Taking all of the toys out of his toy baskets.
Eating mommy's homemade pickles...and don't you dare try to take them away ;)
Lovin his friend Autumn!  He loves to sit next to her and chat!

8 Months!

Happy 8 month Birthday to Eli...he is truly a blessing every day!
